Just observed this coincidence. Sometime during early 80s, Ilaiyaraaja composed music for a film titled "Guru", which had Kamal Haasan & Sridevi. The film had couple of good songs.
Years later, in late 90s, Ilaiyaraja scored music for another film titled "Guru", this time in Malayalam.The film which had Mohan Lal, had exceptionally good music (including terriffic background score by Hungary Orchestra). Superb songs.
Now, another film with same title "guru" is being made in hindi, by Maniratnam.A.R.Rahman is scoring music for this Guru.
i dont think this happened before that Rahman composed for a film, whose title has already been used in the past. and in this case, both the previous films were by Ilaiyaraaja. Strange Coincidence...i hope this Guru will have great music too.
