The battle is who is more popular with yuppy, ringtone loving youth
who accounts for nearly 90 percent of sales from music stores. Yuvan
and Harris account for 75 percent of the total audio sales from
music shops in Chennai.
Among the top ten, Yuvan has three top selling albums while Harris
took over the hot seat since the release of Vetayadu Vilayadu.
Remember that Yuvan has not been able to match Harris' Ghajini audio
sales.
But Yuvan is more prolific and dishes out hits at regular intervals
at least 6 to 8 audio tracks in a year while Harris does only 2-3
films.
Both the music directors have made deep inroads into Telugu audio
market which is more paying. Their salary including the re-recording
for the film ranges from 50 to 55 Lakhs.
