Dear Mohammed Ameer, You are cent percent correct that "Ey Hairathe Ashiqui" " is originally from legendary 19th Century celebrated Urdu Poet Janab Amir Khusru's Ey Shabrathe Ashiqui. The legendary Poet Amir Khusru's Mazar (grave yard) is located at Hazrath Nizamuddin Aulia's (PBUH) Dargah at New Delhi.
Hats off to ARRahman and Gulzar for their magnificent effort. With best wishes, Allah Hafiz, SHAIK MEHABOOB ----- Original Message ---- From: Mohamed Ameer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com Sent: Thursday, November 30, 2006 3:11:56 PM Subject: [arr] Interesting about Ey Hairathe Ey Hairathe Aashiqui song was penned actually from the Khusru's "Ey Shabrathe Aashiqui" (a legendary poet from 19th century), It was Rahman who gave it to Gulzar to modify the lyrics accordingly for Guru.
