Hi

Sorry. I was busy, which is why i couldnt post the transcript this week. Vithur
has done a nice transcript! Thanks Vithur!

Here are some details from the program, which I wanna add:

Rahman never discards his old music instruments too, jus like his old car. He
has all his old keyboards etc.

Apart from the musical genius that we know him as, he is also an electronic
whiz kid. At a time when there was only mono systems in the market, he designed
his own stereo systems. If there's some problem with his synthesizers, he
himself opens up the instruments and repairs them!!

Cheers,

Aravind

Dear Rahmaniacs,

Few salient points of discussion between Reihana and Thumba Raja on
yesterday's Rahmania Show in FM 91.9

 1. Thumba Raja assosciated with Rahman for the past 14 years . He plays the
Thumba instrument, and has been associated with Rahman right from the time, he
was a keyboard player for Music Directors like Naidu. A Long Time Family Friend
of ARR; He, Sivamani ( Drummist ) and Rahman used to have a lot of fun; ARR
used to have a good sense of humour, and used to crack jokes in Telugu.

 2. ARR's first car was an ambassador, which he still preserves ; For that
matter, he never forgets the past, and keeps a store of everything that gave him
joy once upon a time. His car number is 1771 ( first Car - Ambassador )

 3. ARR always likes doing Jingles, and Background scores more than doing Film
Songs. He always used to carry the Walkman wherever he went. It was reall
difficult to see him without a walkman, and always used to listen to music.

 4. During 1990s, all film directors wanted a young Music Director, when it was
Mani who first spotted ARR , after he won an award for his Leo Coffee Ad
Jingle. That tiem, ARR
was little reluctant of doing films, as he was not interested in film music. he
told Mani that he was interested in BGMs, and onyl jingles, and was not very
keen in doing full fledged songs, for which Mani told him that we would do a
song daily, which would be like doing a jingle daily.
