As far as I know, the lyrics was set to tune by MSV for a "Mellisai" in Doordarshan in those days. If i'm not wrong Jayachandran and Vani Jeyaram used to sing the song. This would start as "Azhagu Azhagu...". The same lyrics was set to this wonderful tune by ARR for Pudhiya Mugam. Is that you meant Aravind?
