Here's a question for the raga experts in the forum. I've been watching this bhimpalasi performance at http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=D3crM16vFOI , and I'm strongly reminded of a passage or phrase from some Rahman song, in particular by the playing between 5:40-5:50. But no amount of brain-racking has yielded the song in question.
I'm aware that Rahman's Ae Ajnabee (Dil Se) and Kismat Se (from Pukar) are largely composed in Bhimpalasi, but I am not finding the notes that I'm looking for in these songs. Can anyone spot the song? Of course it's possible that it is not a Rahman song at all, in which case please forget that I ever posed this question. Thanks, Sreeni.
