Folks, Need to know something. Is Rashid Ali the singer in ADA and JTYJN the same person who is a regular guitarist with ARR's troupe for his concerts and has also played in many of his movie soundtracks?
If that is the case, I want to know what prompted the decision to let Rashid sing. Usually Rahman has many great singers doing background vocals on the lines of Harini, Suresh Peters, Karthik and many others and then they eventually got a solo song. but how come we never saw Rashid doing that transition or was it never documented while he kept helping with harmony? As a matter of fact Rashid Ali sounds awesome and fresh and will go places for sure. Jagdeesh
