The much awaited function of recent times, the audio release of Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Kuselan, was held last evening (June 30) at Hotel Le Meridian, Guindy. The CD was released by Rajini's mentor K. Balachander and received by A.R. Rahman, the uncle and mentor of G.V. Prakash Kumar, the music director of Kuselan.
Balachandar gave a Tamil CD to his best friend, the veteran director Bharathiraja. Balachandar showered praise on Rajinikanth's greatness and simplicity. He also talked about their `Guru-Sishaya` relationship and he went to the extent of comparing it with the relationship of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Vivekananda. G.V Prakash said that he is a big fan of the superstar and that the chance to score music for his film "is just a dream come true". Rajinikanth delivered a short and sweet speech in which he thanked everybody associated with the film. He said in a lighter vain that he felt tensed when everyone said that the film would be another blockbuster like Chandramukhi. Rajinikanth heaped praise on the young music director Prakash by saying, "his music is fantastic and excellent. It is a combination of Ilayaraja and A.R Rahman". He also revealed the secret of his looking young in the film. "Avoid white food materials like salt, sugar, rice, and milk", said the Superstar. He was quick to add that "don't practice this before you reach 40". The ball room, which could normally accommodate around 1000 people, was jam packed with a crowd of around 2000 people. Kuselan is expected to hit the halls by the end of July.
