Titled "Jai Hind", this rendition is layered with Ustad Zakir Hussain's classic compositions and Javed Aktar's stirring verse.
Akhtar says, "There have been many songs written on India and the words could therefore get very clich d. So I thought why not talk of India in the context of music." Also celebrating the spirit of freedom, are some of the country's most recognizable faces outside the realm of classical music. Durga Jasraj, producer of Jai Hind, says: "I could not think of any other name but Jai Hind for this because I wanted to create a product that every Indian will relate to. It was A R Rahman's recreation of the National Anthem in 2007 that last brought together such stalwarts. Twelve months later, another patriotic wave strikes a chord. Pandit Jasraj reminiscences: "I was 17 when India got independence and I still remember the atmosphere then. I hope that love still prevails within people." http://www.ndtv.com/convergence/ndtv/story.aspx?id=NEWEN20080061553&ch=8/14/2008%209:16:00%20PM -- regards, Vithur ARR -- The Sweet Cube always
