Of course. He is working in a commercial industry. There is nothing wrong in earning money. We need to buy our food, clothes, play our rent/ mortgage. But, I don't think ARR would ever have refused to do music for anyone who was not having enough money to pay to him. He has done several films which look more like a consideration (All Deepa Mehta's low budget movies, Benegal's movies, albums for old friends, religious albums).
