Speaking to the media through a video conference from his Chennai residence, the music composer got a trifle emotional. “The Golden Globe nomination for my music and all the various awards I have received for SlumDog Millionaire surprised me. I want to win this award for India,” he said. When his overseas agents called him to say that he had received a Golden Globe nomination (considered in Hollywood as a prelude to the Oscars), he was absolutely taken back, Rahman said. “For a Hindi film I usually work with 193 cues,” he confessed. “In the case of Slumdog, I have worked with only 17 cues.
