Chennai, Mar 1: Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala today hosted a 
reception for A R Rahman, who recently won two Oscars for his score in the 
movie Slumdog Millionaire.
According to a Raj Bhavan release, the Governor presented a shawl and memento 
to Rahman while his mother, Kareena Begum, was also honoured on the occasion.

The release quoted Barnala saying that Rahman had brought pride to the nation 
by winning the coveted award, which was awaited by all Indians.

Rahman, on his part, sang a few lines of his award-winning song 'Jai Ho', it
