In the radio show "Vairamuthu Neram", lyricist vairamuthu mentioned that an NRI named Shoba approached him, and asked him if he could introduce her to Rahman. She gave a demo CD, which VM passed on to Rahman. Rahman liked the voice and called her for this song. This was her only song. To even recollect ARR' s initial journey during early 90's, it gives me immense pleasure and makes me sail back to those vintage days......where. .i was unconciously inclined towards music only because of this wonder man, A R Rahman..! He is the most primary reason for the transition towards Musical world for me...:) This time..i chose "May Maadham".., an album with its great melody and Rahman's signature sheen its full glory and pomp.! I hold this album to be one of ARR's most spectacular works ever..!!! But i am utterly disappointed by the fact that this entire album did not do great among the masses. I guess...only due to this fact, ARR thought of recreating the same magical score for Hindi audiences in "Love You Hamesha.." , but again failed to create sensation due to the bad fate of the movie... :-( 1) Maarghazhi Poove --------> Shobha Chandrashekar ( Same as Ek Ladki Thi from Love You Hamesha) Can anybody confirm me that this singer (Shobha) is the mother of popular actor Vijay..??? If so, i wonder why she didnt continue her singing for long time..? Nevertheless, comng to the song, it begins with a great flute aalap with a royal touch of "Kausalya Supraja Rama..." - the Suprabhata chantings- as its backdrops along with the techno beats by Rahman..!! Call it fusion/ remix....gets ur ears a great morning dose of pleasure..!! ! Perfect ringtone for the mobile phones....loved across south india...even some parts of North!! Shobha delivers a first class rendition and also the chorus part is enchanting.. ." Particularly, towards the end, Shobha and ARR gives us a morning classical feast to our ears....!!! An ever memorable Rahman's creation..!! ! 2) Palakkattu Machhanukku ------------ -> Shahul Hameed, G V Prakash Kumar (Same as Botal Tod De in Love You Hamesha) The demised Shahul Hameed croons this song towards the fag end of his life along with ARR's own nephew GV Prakash, who's into music these days..!!! One yearns for Shahul to listen more n more after listening to these songs. Its a very modern, hep, peppy, trendy song! ARR exhibits his passion for technology and western instruments in this song so clearly that one can picturise by hearing.!! GV Prakash, with his very shrill and kiddish voice provides a naughty atmosphere. Vintage Techno Rahman at his Best!!!! 3) Madrasa Sutthi Paarka ------------ -> Swarnalatha, Shahul Hameed, Manorama "Drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrr.... .Drio Na Drio Drio......." Thus goes the ever chirpy and every witty Manorama, the senior most Comedienne of Southern Cinema. Thanks to ARR a million times...for having used her voice. The highly acclaimed Swarnalatha begins her lines with an intention to roam around the Madras city...great easy-go rendition by her...!! Shahul Hameed and even GVP makes a cameo in the lines.."All- in-all hero....". Manorama brings up a great wittyness to the ARR tunes...!! A great jolly-go-happy song..!!! 4) En Mel Vizhunda ------------ --------> P. Jayachandran , Chitra (Same as Gupchup Baatein from Love You Hamesha) The legendary singers Chitra and Jayachandran unite to leave behind a resplendent melody which also doubles as a lullaby. A perfect bed time song to make your senses ease and relax after a tiresome day. Rahman's lillting tunes soothes us to the core with Naveen's ever soothing flute piece, a magnanimous Sitar piece and the ever inspiring rendition by the singer duo. Vairamuttu's lines again shines as bright as diamond particularly in the Antaras..."Mannai Thirandaal Neer Irukkum...En Manadhai Thirandaal Nee Iruppai..." Absolute Wonder!!!! A stunning melody alias lullaby...!! ! 5) Aadipparu Mangattha ---------> Malgudi Shubha, Sunita Rao, GV Prakash Kumar The "Paree Hu Main.." girl Sunita Rao makes her Tamil Debut with this racy song about a local game involving the playing cards..!! Malgudi Shubha, as usual n as expected provides a raunchy, rustic touch to this number. GVP mouths few lines for the boy in the film. Though not a very very memorable song, this song certainly has some strange stuff that makes it special. Sunita Rao quite fumbles with her Tamil dictions, as is expected out of her..!!! A feel nice song..!! 6) Minnale Nee ------------ -> S P Balasubramanyam How can i do justice in describing such a masterpiece by my mere words..?? I bet even best critic writer in this world would fall short of words to describe the experience he goes through when he listens to this song..!! To such an extent i am amazed and dazzled to even take this song's name..!! Easily "THE BEST PATHO SONG A MUSICIAN CAN EVER WRITE".!!! is how i can explain here. SPB and ARR combo has always delivered pearls and diamonds...and this one too is no lesser..!! Whatta heart wrenching song for a lover whos lost his beloved...!! ! And i am in short of words to praise even Vairamuttu for his awesome poetry..!!! The interludes are an experience by itself to listen to..!! I am sorry..cant describe the effect it brings out..!! Voilins are lavishly used and they majestically inspire..!! A great Experience in itself..!! Hear it to Believe it..!!! May Maadham has also a small witty song when the titles are displayed on screen...Can anybody share it to me..??? I beleive it should be again from GV Prakash....it says..."May May May Maadham..." . A hugely Mesmerising Album..!!! ________________________________ Own a website.Get an unlimited package.Pay next to nothing.*Click here!.
