Holding high praise for the Hollywood film industry for its democratic character, Swaroop said the scene at Academy Awards Ceremony was entirely different from Indian Awards Function on account of the fact that once ushered inside the venue one could freely interact with the likes of Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston. However, in Bollywood the security paraphanelia around the stars keep the fans and common man at bay from their favourite stars. As regards 'Slumdog Millionaire' the diplomat turned writer felt that after Gandhi it is the first film based on an Indian theme which has earned the accolades of movie lovers in western countries and won Oscars in virtually all major categories. This is despite the fact that themes of both films were altogether different. But this cannot deny the credit to Slumdog.. which was a work of total fiction and its list of high profile admirers include present US secretary of state, Hillary Rodham Clinton. Attributing the success of the film to its ability to touch the hearts of people from top to bottom, Swaroop said that work on another film based on his second book 'The Six Suspects' would commence shortly with British Broadcasting Corporation( BBC) hiring the services of legendary screenplay writer John Hodge to write the screenplay of the film. Interestingly, Hodge is the person who is credited with writing the screenplay of Slumdog's.. director, Danny Boyle's other three films and is a gifted screenplay writer. http://timesofindia .indiatimes. com/NEWS -City-Allahabad- Jai-Ho-enchants- music-lo vers-across- the-globe/ articleshow/ 478104 4.cms Rahman fever His Music ~ My Mother Tongue ________________________________ Looking for local information?
