I think 2nd charanams are not that of neccasary. Even ARR has many songs with only 1 Charanams, for instance Boys - Secret of Success. As u said, unless the scene demanded a song which needs to has 2 charanams for lovely lyrics to be written, i think 1 charanam is more than enough. Especially after listening to nowadays songs, 1 charanams is seriously enough....Lyrics r too normal and music has no quality.
