Yes that's true.....earlier John Abraham was supposed to star in it & UTV producing it.
Its no surprise that Rahman is doing it as he was part of the earlier crew & sounds a great combination now... Likewise he can use the tunes of London Dreams too for this genre which he must have composed as that too was in his kitty earlier until Vipul Shah took it from Raj Kumar Santoshi...
