I would assume the other album was Gang Master. Just based on the songs, I assume it was a remake of a Hindi movie called "Sir" by Mahesh Bhatt. That had very enjoyable songs. The problem with Super Police is that I understand the lyrics, so it is a little embrassing. However, there was this phase in Telugu cinema when almost all the songs were like that. Still, one of the biggest credits was that Rahman created Babu Love Chaiyyara, which came into Rangeela. And I did have the title song in one of my Best of Rahman mixes long back! Babu Love Chaiyyara is however, the only song repeated in Rangeela. I'm not sure what Souvik meant when he said most of the songs from Super Police are in Rangeela.

Exactly, I was not aware of that but that's what i was guessing. newcomers have to undergo a lot of things before they could settle down. Even Mani has given ARR just a pittance money for Roja, ARR was earning much more than that for doing ads even before that. So, while appraising initial work of a person, not just ARR but any artist, we should give some discount that people have dictated terms to him. And it has its negative side for these arm twisters also. Super Police and other such arm twisted albums didn't do great because ARR was not having enough freedom to create great music then. Apart from low remuneration, Mani gave ARR freedom to create whatever music he wanted, so ARR came up with great music and Mani also benefitted by that. -- Rawat > > On 5/20/10, V S Rawat<vsra...@gmail.com> wrote: >> On 5/20/2010 4:39 PM India Time, _souvik gupta_ wrote: >> >>> To me super police is one of a.r.r s saddest albums..many songs were >>> there in rangeela and seems he didnt give time to d movie at all.The >>> standard he set for other albums it is not at all upto the mark. >> >> Those were the initial days of ARR and he can be called a struggler >> then, getting exploited by producers directors. >> >> So, it is ok the type of music he could give under those compulsions. >> We should give some discount.
