Information and Publicity Minister Parithi Ellamvazhuthi on Saturday launched the video of the theme song of World Tamil Classical Conference. Penned by Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and set to music by A.R. Rahman, the video has been filmed by director Gautam Vasudev Menon. Launching the video, Mr. Ellamvazhuthi said it would be telecast on LED screens fitted in many parts of Coimbatore city. All theatres in the State would screen the theme song. In Chennai, it would be screened in select places like railway stations, bus terminus and Koyambedu market. Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi said preparations for the conference were in full swing. Research papers to be presented at the World Tamil Classical Conference and the Tamil Internet Conference were being received and reviewed. Mr. Menon said that it took Rahman three months to compose the music for the song and another three months for him to film the video. As aerial shots needed permission, the shoot was delayed. Care was taken while filming to ensure that the visuals did not dominate the audio. The video was a perfect blend of audio and visuals, which was appreciated by the Chief Minister. Saying that he and Rahman worked free for the project, Mr. Menon said he would have liked to film the Tamil diaspora living all over the world but had to restrict himself owing to time constraint. http://beta.thehindu.com/news/cities/Chennai/article441711.ece
