Thank you all for responding my question!

So, there isn't any Remedy out of box solution. One good suggestion is
to delete the "Add" "Delete" labels in the view and add those two
buttons backed with special Run Process commands.

Will this work: have a two different views for the form with the
attachment pool, the attachment pool on the Admin view has both "Add"
and "Delete" displayed; the attachment pool on the Read only view has
neither "Add" and "Delete".

Thanks again for helping!

Kevin

Unfortunately, I don't think this stops people adding/replacing
attachments using drag-and-drop

If there are certain people who should be able to add/delete/save and
others who should not, it is easiest to remove the add/delete/save
lables from the attachment pool, then add the functionality using
buttons and the special Run Process command for each action.

Claire,

Thank you for your suggestion! That is a clever solution but it is a
little more involving.

Instead of having an attachments field you could make a form to hold
your attachments. Then you can use workflow to do what you are saying.

Thanks,

Subject: How to make an attachment pool read only

Hi All,

Is there a way to make an attachment pool read only?

The permission tab on an attachment pool doesn't do the job I will like.
With no permission, the attachment pool disappear altogether. What I
want is
READ-ONLY: they can see file list and display all files, but they will
not see "Add", "Delete" buttons for any selected attachment.

Any suggestion is appreciated!
