When you choose "Tools > Reporting", are you in search mode with search criteria specified, or are you in modify mode with the results of the query displayed?  If the latter, then you will only get the records you have selected in the results list as the output.

I've had some users get confused about that.

should give you pause.

That said, my first guess would have been to check your User Tool setting -
Tools=>Options=>Behaviors, checkbox labelled Limit Number of Items Returned
(which by default, is 1000).  It sounds like ou've already addressed it,
though.

My next guess would be row-level security.  There are a number of ways to
implement row-level security - group access to Field ID 1, possibly using a
dynamic or computed group.  If you used an Administrator userid, you should
see all records, though.  For a row-level security issue, it also wouldn't
make sense that the record counts to change based on how the results are
sorted.

It'll be difficult, maybe impossible to isolate the fault if you've made
changes without testing each individual change.  "Something" fixed it, but
you don't know what, which would have given you a clue as to the underlying
cause.

I have a Remedy form that I use Tools > Reporting to pull back assets.  The
problem is...

When I run the report, it shows me how many records it's exporting to
csv....i.e, 1 of 1125 (and you see the little "progress" bar as it
exports).
However, it only spits out, say, 379.  Now, based on what I sort by, it
always returns a different number, say 792 or 1101.  I cannot figure out
how
to export the entire 1125 records.

I have tried sorting on key/unique fields, etc.  I have also modified my
settings on the client to return unlimited.

I have been able to pull back all records on one particular report that I
run, but it was hard to get it to do it.  I'd tried so many things, it was
hard to determine why it runs ok now (I've saved it) and why it didn't
before (because I know I'd tried those settings in the past).

Anyhow, now I have a different report I need to run (due to the Dell
recall)
and it's doing the same thing.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
