Guys and girls,
We just finished installing ServiceDesk 7, with ars 7 and CMDB 2, on solairs 9 with oracle 10g
We are using the 10g client, and when you install the 64bit, it also installed the 32 bit libs as well (at least ours did and we did this on 3 different boxes).
But watch out for the install script, the one on the cd removed the Oracle system user after it built up the Remedy tables.

**__20060125_______________________This posting was submitted with HTML in it___Hello David,Yes for ARS 6.3 you can use the 64 bit Oracle 10g database but you do need the 32 bit 9i client for the ARS to make that connection. I can confirm this as I had recently gone through that process.I also ran into an issue for those who want to install ARS 6.3 on Solaris 5.10, the installation script has a bug in it in the way it validates the version of the OS. It requires the version of the OS to be at 5.6. However with the way it validates the OS version it thinks that version 5.10 is 5.1, and since 5.1 is less than 5.6 the installation fails. For those installing it on 5.10 you would need to edit the installation script where it declares the min OS version for solaris as 5.6 and change that parameter to 5.1 just for the purpose of installation..We recently reported this bug to Remedy Support and the workaround we used for it and we were given to understand they would attempt to fix the bug in the next patch release for ARS 6.3...Hope this helps some of you...

You will probably need to load the 9i client after you install 10g to
access your SID through its console
