I agree that some kind of label/value needs to be present.  Your solution works best if you want that value on the right side of the box, the space works for people who want it on the other side.

I'd let the users decide what makes sense to them, and stay consistent with that.

L.J., I think that's a much better answer than to have a space character for the selection value.

I also create checkbox fields with null labels, for two reasons.  First, when you look at most examples of Windows GUIs, the checkbox is on the left and the text is on the right.  We should always strive to do what's "normal" in user interface design.  Second, when you write Run If qualifications, they make much more sense when the selection is some meaningful statement ( i.e., something other than a space character).

I usually make the database name a question and the selection value the answer, so to speak.  For example:

    ($User Likes Pizza?$ = "User Likes Pizza")

Or:

    ($Show All Items?$ = $NULL$)

That way you don't have to look at the Run If and wonder what it means...

Subject: check field

**  Hi all,

I am creating a check field and I tried to delete all the selection values  from attribute, however, I could not delete the last value(default).  I  seen check fields with out any value before.  Can anyone tell me how can I  create the field with out any value?

Thank you in advance,
