I am rejoining the list after a three year hiatus. I have a home-grown program, Unixpage, which is spawned by a filter to send pages out of Remedy. Each of the calls to Unixpage is shown in arfork.log. Most of these calls have a return code of 0x0 and I can find the page in the page log.
A few of these calls have a return code of 0x1 and 0x2. The pages are not found in the paging system log. Below are two examples from arfork.log. Mon Oct 16 06:53:19 2006 Spawning child, shell "", command "/vol.tools/ar630/arsystem/bin/unixpage -k -p 0280 -t -u -m HD0000000630689 ""M Thorin having Outlook problems; taking 45 minutes to get in /pc40295 previously assigned to Outlook Support is assigned to you.""". Mon Oct 16 06:53:19 2006 Spawned "/vol.tools/ar630/arsystem/bin/unixpage - k -p 0280 -t -u -m HD0000000630689 ""M Thorin havng Outlook problems; taking 45 minutes to get in /pc40295 previously assigned to Outlook Support is assigned to you.""" as pid 15671. Mon Oct 16 06:53:19 2006 Awaiting record marker. Mon Oct 16 06:53:20 2006 process id 15671 has exited with status 0x1. Mon Oct 16 06:57:04 2006 Received record marker. Mon Oct 16 08:22:39 2006 Spawning child, shell "", command "/vol.tools/ar630/arsystem/bin/unixpage -k -p -t -u -m HD0000000630887 ""M casc-pavw01 ColdStart Trap (reboot or SNMP agent restart) previously assigned to Server Operations is assigned to you.""". Mon Oct 16 08:22:39 2006 Spawned "/vol.tools/ar630/arsystem/bin/unixpage - k -p -t -u -m HD0000000630887 ""M casc-pavw01 ColdStart Trap (reboot or SNMP agent restart) previously assigned to Server Operations is assigned to you.""" as pid 5348. Mon Oct 16 08:22:39 2006 Awaiting record marker. Mon Oct 16 08:22:39 2006 process id 5348 has exited with status 0x2. Mon Oct 16 08:23:05 2006 Received record marker. I have cut out the commands and have manually sent the pages. They return with a status of 0x0. These call result in the pages being in the paging log and the messages show up on my pager. The system is ARS 6.3 Patch 18, Solaris 10. The directory /vol.tools/ar630/arsystem/bin is the directory where all of the binaries for Remedy are located. The ownership is the same for all files in this directory (xxremedy) and the permissions are 755 or greater. This directory is located on the Solaris NAS so it is not local storage. Anyone have any ideas?
