ARS 8.1.02

My client, a Government Agency, is wondering if it is possible to use CAC
Authentication to invoke a web services call.

My client would like to know if there is any way to use client
certificate-based authentication to authenticate via the .NET library to the
Remedy web service. In our case, this would be smartcard auth, but the issue is
generic to any client cert. The specific place where we are stuck is in the
server class' Login method; it appears that all overloads require a user/pass.
We think the .NET library is officially unsupported, and I don't know how
feasible the C/Java API is for our use. The other option we are exploring is to
bypass the BMC .NET library and instead perform generic HTTP transactions but
we still need to work out how to perform the authentication there.

Has anyone had a similar requirement and have any suggestions?

Thanks
Kevin
