I having been examining the tables and views this afternoon, just in case. I just found this on Altiris' support site http://www.wise.com/Altiris/Partners/DeveloperPartners.aspx. The SDK appears to have a lot of info on what I will need to integrate with Remedy.
Excerpt: "The following SDKs provide a code library consisting of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Command Line Interfaces (CLIs), Web services, and other programmatic interfaces for the Altiris Notification Server and related Altiris applications: Administrator Software Development Kit (ASDK) helps Altiris customers and business partners automate and configure Altiris solution functionality, create process-based connections to third-party and homegrown applications, or leverage Altiris functionality from homegrown Web applications." I just registered (http://www2.altiris.com/portal/Default.aspx?alias=www2.altiris.com/port al/dev) for access to the SDK's and am currently waiting to receive an email from Altiris. The only way I got to see it was by looking at the actual database tables. I have not been able to locate any data model or schema/database diagram either in the product's help docs, searching Google, nor searching Altiris's support forum site. I found one posting ( http://forums.altiris.com/messageview.aspx?catid=10&threadid=5593&enter <http://forums.altiris.com/messageview.aspx?catid=10&threadid=5593&enter > thread=y) that seemed to state that there is no such document in existence. I don't give up that easily...do you know where I can get a pdf of the schema diagram? Once you see the data model, it makes sense, and isn't that hard to map to whatever Remedy tables you want. I've seen how they work in general, and also the Altiris data model, and my general advice is just to use View forms (or, if you already have it, BMC Discovery tools) to access the Altiris tables. Accomplishes the same thing at a lot lower cost than that of the connectors.
