Since you are on 8.1.2 you can always query the form “AR System Metadata: actlink_macro” for what is in the system. ShortText + LongText should give you the actual macro. Using the actlink ID against the “AR System Metadata: actlink” form will give you which Active Links they exist in.
Personally if there are not too many I think it might be better to recreate what they are doing instead of converting.
