We upgraded from 5.1.2 to 7.0 and now 7.0.1. We did things a little weirdly
and we had problems as well. On the 5.1.2 upgrade to 7.0 we decided to move to
all new servers as well. So for some odd reason that's eluding me now we had
to install a new instance of 5.1.2 arserver on the new db server. Then we
loaded up the new db server with a copy of our old db. After this we
uninstalled the 5.1.2 server. If we didn't do the 5.1.2 install our efforts
would fail. Finally, we then installed 7.0 on our new app server with the
upgrade option. It went pretty smoothly expect that our group and user forms
got a bit messed up. Also our original attempt at installing email went
through okay but nothing worked. So we had to blow away all the email forms
and reinstall again. The move from 7.0 to 7.0.1 patch1 was much easier and
less headaches.

Subject: Re: ARS 7.0.01 upgrade problems

Support recommend us to upgrade to 6.3 and then to 7x

So we did an upgrade from 5.1.2 -> 6.3 -> 7.01
