*I think this posting was eaten by the List email engine. I posted one

..this behavior is also present in Outlook 2007. In the new Outlook,
Word 2007 is used for all email - it can't be turned off. Even if you
don't have Word 2007 a special version of Word 2007 is installed with
Outlook 2007 for viewing emails. For additional details see the thread
"OT: Remedy HTML Email and Outlook 2007" from last December.

While viewing an HTML email in Outlook 2007 you have to select Other
Actions -> View in Browser for the HTML email to function as you
originally intended.

Subject: AR E-mail Engine 6.3 and HTML emails bug - workaround

**

Listers,

FYI - I was interested in constructing a bunch of HTML based E-mail
templates that Remedy could send for notifications. Of which I used
areatext boxes, buttons, and several other html features that would make
it easier on the eyes. I also wanted to develop templates that would
allow people to "reply" , click a button, and add text, and tickets get
updated automatically. However, there is a bug with Microsoft Outlook
2003 with Word 2003 installed. Apparently, because Word 2003 is used as
an HTML editor for Outlook, there is a security bug that Microsoft has
when it tries to "reply or forward" an HTML based e-mail. Items such as
"buttons, and areatext boxes" are stripped when you use Outlook to reply
to a message.

To get around this bug, you'll need to Open up Microsoft Outlook 2003,
click Tools, go to the Mail Format Tab. Then under Message Format you'll
see two check boxes. The Top one "Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit
e-mail messages" MUST be disabled in order for this to work
appropriately. If it is not disabled, you'll get this issue if you to
use HTML.

Just a friendly FYI to a very annoying bug.

Chris
