We have had the same issue with Remedy 6.3 not patch. Remedy support gave us the same answer - YOU NEED TO PATCH.
We put on patch 18. That was the one that was going to address and correct the error. Well we don't see the error as much but it is still out there. Remedy said it had to be VPN related, however 50% of my user, with the error do not use VPN. It also happen more frequently with users that have laptops. The user that are on a Desk Top do not get the error that much. Maybe 0.5% of the errors are from Desk Top users. Bottom Line: The occurrences of the error has diminished, but has not gone away completely. Would you like to attempt to override the existing connection?" Now, the users are not connected from any other machines. Further, this message normally pops up as they are performing a search. The error log is filling with these messages. I have been talking to Remedy Support about this but that hasn't been any help. Their latest response was to install the patch for the user client (but they haven't told me if it actually addresses my issue) Their response prior to that one was: "After some research on VPN, the problem seems to be related to the VPN configuration, which allow users to override the server routing addresses to access the same server with different IP. A possible solution is route your connection to the ARS server over the network and reroute VPN connections to the server. Your Network administrator would help you with that configuration." I talked to my network admin and was told that VPN should not be a problem because IP addresses do not change often enough or at all. Has anyone had any issues with this? Does anyone have any ideas?
