Yes, your presence here is always appreciated, David, but your response does
beg the completely academic question of why a tool was selected/deployed in
such a way as to hamstring those using it in the way you described, when
Remedy ARS, as you well know, can easily satisfy any business requirement.

I can answer this one. This is logged as an RFE and not a Defect.
Because our internal tracking system will not allow an RFE in "Closed"
status mode to be re-opened, we place RFEs that will not be considered in
"Retired" status mode for awhile before closing them. This enables us to
"re-open" the RFE if circumstances require it instead of having to create a
new RFE. It's a slightly mis-leading status, but it's what we had to work
with when trying to merge all of the BMC processes together in one tool.

I just found these so "funny" that you might like to see them too.
If you have some time and what a few laughs...

Login to BMC's support web site and search defects on the following three
qualifications:
 Product Name: "AR System"
 Version: "7.0.1"
 Problem Area: "Web"
 Click the "Search" button.

Scroll through the list of defects and find the Defect ID: SW00267946.
 Details are as follows:

 Summary:
 "
TT form shows the Logout button although that option is not selected on
the Menu Access tab of View Properties "
 Disposition: "Verified"
 Resolution: "Not Reproducible"

While you have that list in front of you.. also look at:

Defect ID: SW00267373
Can you fix and test something that you can not reproduce?

Defect ID: SW00268594
  Summary: "Consuming webservice trough filter"
Can you "retire" a feature that is "as designed" and is also a Defect?
(and still have it in the product?)
