I believe the CI Viewer does nothing more than copy some files to the WEB-INF/lib directory of the mid-tier and imports some data into the Data Visualization Modules form.
Run the CI Viewer installer on the linux box. If you don't have physical access/display capabilities on the linux box, set up X so that you can export your display to your local machine.
