When I had that issue, BMC support had me add both to the mid-tier configuration. You would think that they would use whatever you supply rather than the FQDN, but perhaps that's yet another "feature" recently added.

I'm still curious though why my email notifications would go out using "server=server.domain.com" - any idea where this is saved? Thanks again and I apologize for my lapse of sanity this morning :) -Eli ________________________________ From: Eli Schilling Sent: Tuesday, August 28, 2007 8:24 AM To: 'arslist@ARSLIST.ORG' Subject: Server Name Config Question (ITSM 7) Does anyone know all the locations where one would configure server name information for ITSM 7? When I first built my system I did NOT use the FQDN of the server. When I installed mid-tier I did NOT use the FQDN. However, the first email message to go out included the URL: http://server/arsys/blah.blah.blah/...&server=server.domain.com... Well, I don't have the FQDN configured in mid-tier so obviously the link doesn't work. So I went into mid-tier and added a new server using the FQDN. I changed all server options to use the new FQDN server name and deleted the non-FQDN server. I flushed mid-tier cache and restarted AR server. Now my flashboards are broken; stating that the server is not present in the configured servers list - non-FQDN name. Where do I go to sync everything up to use the FQDN server name? What am I missing? Thanks in advance for the help! I'm on my second monday this week... -Eli __20060125_______________________This posting was submitted with HTML in it___ Private and confidential as detailed here.
