Thanks,

I turned off the alerts/escalations, turned on the development mode and
manually stopped the other BMC services. This resolved the issue, the
problem was not how long it was taking to load but the fact that it
never stopped/started the BMC ARS service. Clock this one up to another
strange IT issue.

Just like to say a quick thanks to all those who replied to quickly,
hopefully when I gain some "useful" knowledge I can impart it here also
at some point.

Cheers

And one that just bit me...

The manual say to turn "Administrator Only Mode" on to improve
performance. Don't do that, there's a defect logged against it:
SW00256289. From support:
"We found after some of the later patches of CMDB,
extensionloader does not create some of the joins needed for the ITSM
apps if Admin Only mode was 'ON' during the installs. We have already
documented this as a defect"

Tim,

Have you enabled the Development Cache Mode on the AR Server prior to
kicking the install?

Have you enabled sufficient Fast and List threads on the AR System
Server?

Have you set a good initial size on the database? What database are you
on? If on MS-SQL, flushing the transaction log prior to installing CMDB
does help in case you are running out of transaction log space. Make
sure both your data file and the log file are sufficiently large.

Subject: CMDB 2.01 Installation on Windows NT

Hi there all,

I have a Remedy Server 7.0.1 running on Windows 2003 and I am trying to
install CMDB. The problem I have is that it run at 100% for 8 hours and
does nothing, is it stuck at the trying to restart the Remedy service.

I have rebuilt the server and I have the same problem so it is most
likely user error.

Any thoughts on what I am not doing correctly? This is not urgent as it
is a development server.

Thanks

P.S. I have read the documentation but cannot understandwhy it is not
working.
