I got it working on the User Tool. (yeah!) But when I use the same
exact button in the Mid Tier, I'm getting "Report Error - Failed to
perform Action"

I'm going to look into this more....

Thanks so much for offering your assistance to help with the User Tool
reports!

We don't use the Mid-Tier so I can' really say what could be wrong
there. My understanding is that it should work on Mid-Tier as well.

Do you know if the Active Link is actually firing and just not creating
the report?

Can you test it on the actual User Tool (Thick Client) and not the
Mid-Tier to see if you get the same result?

I'll be glad to tell you how I have mine setup if that would be any help
to you.

Andy,

Are you creating this for a Mid Tier Report?

Just wondering. I tried the exact same thing you did and it's not
working at all. I'm wondering if I need to install something
separately?

I'm able to create a report from the mid tier manually, but not from an
"Open Window" active link.

Lisa

Never mind, I believe I figured out how to make it work. I found that if
I set the destination to "File", even though the report type is AR
System, it prompts you for the filename when you run it and you can
select .csv as the file type at that point. This is the first time I
have really every played with the report creator. In the past I have
always used MACRO's, but I felt like I needed to get away from that
method.

Subject: Report from button

I created a report that runs from a button press. The button causes an
active link to fire which does an open Window, Window Type=Report. It
appears to work fine, but I would like to have it go to a .csv file and
I have been unable to figure out how to do so. The only report types I
have as options are Crystal Reports and AR System.

Is there something I am missing or is there no way to do this?
