We are on Solaris 5.10..and need came up because we have installed Jboss on
that server that looks at this port(1099) and throws errors while startup.
We hold up on doing configuration changes in Jboss and wanted to see if Remedy
email engine can be modified to use other port and started receiving below
errors.

Any help greatly appreciated?

Regards,
Chintan.

There is nothing wrong with changing the rmi port, in fact it's pretty much
required if you want things to work properly, as fb, email, and many other non
remedy products like to use port 1099 as their rmi port.

I don't believe you want to change the port for the 6.3
email engine.   What OS are you using?

            Hi all,

We changed the default port of 1099 to
1118 in EmailDaemon.properties file and since then email engine
is
              not working.

Does it require a server restart to load new
              properties?

Are there other ports that can be
              used?

Running same versions of Remedy and email engine(6.03
              patch
        22).

Regards,
Chintan.
