I have an interesting opportunity.  Our Client (Client is a Billion
Dollar Organization - Well Established) in Melbourne Australia is
looking for a talented Remedy Developer well versed with V. 7.x to take
a permanent position with them in Australia.  Interviews will take place
between 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM EST due to the hour delay with time zones.
Salary for this position is up to 100K in the Australian Dollar.  In US
Dollars this is close to 86K with full benefits, 401k, life insurance,
short and long term disability, medical, dental, and vision as well as
paid time off.  
 
Cost of living is very close to the Reston, VA market.  Homes are
expensive, however one can rent an apartment fully furnished for close
to 250 Australian a week and be fairly close to Melbourne.  Roughly a 20
minute drive.  My contact lives in Australia right outside of Melbourne
and he will be able to answer all questions you may have about currency,
work environment, cost of living etc.

The Remedy Application Developer is responsible for the overall
architecture and design of Remedy applications and associated Remedy ARS
infrastructure, including the coordination of software patches and
upgrades. The Remedy Application Developer is also responsible for the
development and support of Remedy applications, which include BMC Remedy
ITSM products and custom (bespoke) Remedy applications. Whilst this role
doesn't have any direct reports, the Remedy Application Developer is
responsible for the oversight of the design and approach taken by any
junior Remedy Developers on the team.

1. Remedy Application Development 

45% 

Development of new (custom) applications and enhancements to existing
applications based on signed off requirements, functional specifications
and statement of work. 

Delivery of application functionality as agreed by the client and as per
KPMG ITS ITIL standards. 

Application Development meets clients' expectations via their sign-off
of the application. 

All development activities tracked via change management tool. 

 

 

Remedy System Analysis and Design 

25% 

Analysis of business requirements, functional design development, and
effort estimates (Statement of Work). This role is responsible for not
only designing applications to be developed by them, but also for the
oversight of design being carried out by other Remedy developers. 

Functional Design and Statement of Work written for all Remedy projects
to be developed by this role. 

Projects to be developed by other developers have had their
documentation and design reviewed by the Remedy Application Developer. 

Functional Design and statement of work documentation are produced for
all Remedy projects. 

 

3. Remedy 3rd Level Support 

15% 

Incident Management - Resolve incidents on Remedy Applications if the
support team escalates to the development team. 

Problem Management - This accountability also includes the analysis of
root cause to problems if the support team is unable to do so, and the
problem is prioritized accordingly. 

Monitor the job queue and assume immediate responsibility for all
incidents that have escalated to the Remedy Development team. 

Analyze problem records that get prioritized highly. 

All Remedy-related incidents resolved in the defined SLA timeframes and
incident records updated accordingly. 

Prioritized problem records updated accordingly with root cause. 

 

4. Remedy system patching and upgrade planning 

10% 

This role is responsible for monitoring the BMC Remedy support website
and advising the team when appropriate software patches or new versions
are available and make recommendations as far as impact and scheduling. 

Visit BMC support website regularly to ensure that client has access to
software and application patches as required. 

Team Leader is notified when patches or upgrades are available in a
timely manner. 

 

 

Bug and Issue Tracking 

5% 

This role is responsible for the coordination of the logging and
reviewing of open Remedy software bugs with  Remedy software vendor. 

Coordinate the logging of issues with the vendor by various Remedy team
members. 

Escalate to Team Leader and/or vendor if crucial bugs have not been
resolved by the vendor or BMC. 

Remedy issues raised by client are logged on the vendor support website.


Issues are escalated if there is a material effect on client's
applications and they aren't resolved.
