Is ARS clustered as well or just SQL?

**

Just looking for an opinion or two, anecdotes...etc...etc

We've got a high availability setup with two SQL clusters. If one
fails, the other takes over. This is usually just a second or two so
the Remedy application servers rarely even hiccup when this occurs.
There have been occasions though where the failover takes a couple
minutes and/or the database just isn't available for a couple of
minutes.

Instead of reconnecting in the background, in those instances, the app
actually locks and the app servers need to be bounced.

Has anyone noticed this or something similar? If so, what is your
opinion?

Sorry this is a bit vague...I've just seen this behavior a few times and
the reaction is just usually a bounce. Like to have something more
concrete, or at least consensual, to pass along to users as to why...

Anything's appreciated. Thanks!
