Hello All, ARS 7.1 Patch 002 - Server-Client Mid-Tier - 7.1 Patch 004 Windows SQL Server CMDB 2.0.1 Patch 6 ITSM 7 Patch 003 Asset/Change/Problem 7 Patch 003 SLM 7.1
I am having the strangest problem with the plugin server. Last thursday, per an enhancement request, I added some fields to SHR:OverviewConsole. >From HPD:Helpdesk, I successfully added 'Company', 'Assignee' and 'Site', simply by mapping them through the client on the SHR:ARDBC Fields form with entries for MAINHELPDESK. This worked great for the MAINHELPDESK entreis, but the enhancement also asked for 'Task Assignee' and 'Task Site' to be added to SHR:OverviewConsole. 'Company' was showing up fine for Task entries on the Console, but The 'Assignee' and 'Site' fields weren't being displayed on the Overview Console, so after some digging, I noticed the field id's were different on TMS:TASK for 'Assignee' and 'Site', and 'Company' id was the same. I thought if I added the TMS:TASK fields to SHR:ARDBC_OverviewConsole and to SHR:ARDBCOverviewConsoleTemplate that I could then map the fields to SHR:ARDBC Fields through the client and all would work fine. So, I made a mistake and added the 'Assignee' field from TMS:Task to the vendor form SHR:ARDBC_OverviewConsole, in an attempt to add 'Task Assignee' to SHR:OverviewConsole. I also added an entry for the 'Assignee' Field on SHR:ARDBC_OverviewConsole Template and added the field as a column on SHR:Overview Console. I made a corresponding entry through the client to SHR:ARDBC Fields for the 'Assignee' field from task. As soon as I saved the entries and restarted ArServer, the plugin server wasn't recognized by Remedy anymore. When I try to access the Overview Console I get: dbase timeout errors, then several errors Arerr 8755 - The specified plugin does not exist - REMEDY ARDBC APP:QUERY When I try to access the ArSystem Admin Console to enable plugin logging, I get:ARERR [8755] The specified plug-in does not exist. : REMEDY.ARDBC.SERVER.ADMINISTRATION six times, then the error "There are not enough rows in the table (Plugin Server Settings) to display all entries. (ARWARN 47006) The preceding message occurred during the execution of active link AR System Administration: Plugin Pwd - Exit Guide On Too Many Rows -- action 1. (ARNOTE 1101)" The strange part is, when I look at armonitor.log on the dev server, I can see it starting arplugin.exe each time after restart. I can remote desktop to the server and see arplugin.exe up and running as a process. So it does exist, but not being recognized for some reason. My first thought was to import a fresh copy of the unmodified forms I touched from prod to dev via a .def file and remove the client entries for ARDBC Fields, restart and all would be as it was before the change. This did not work, same errors. I have reinstalled server.exe for 7.1 Patch 002, in hopes that arplugin.exe would be reinstalled to original config. I checked ar.cfg against our production environment and don't see any differences regarding the plugin server. I even tried file replacement from prod to dev for serveradmin.dll, restarted the server and still can't get the error that ARERR [8755] The specified plug-in does not exist. : REMEDY.ARDBC.SERVER.ADMINISTRATION. Currently, arplugin.exe has a blank password listed in the ar.cfg file. I have commented this line out, restarted ArServer and rebooted the entire server several times with no results. I get database timeout errors, then Plugin doesn't exist errors. I thought maybe the plugin server was timing out, so I changed the plugin timeout in ar.cfg to 150, 300, and 600 respectively, and still get the same errors. We installed Asset/Change/SLM on Nov 7th, and everything was working fine, until I added the field from TMS:Task to SHR:ARDBC_OverviewConsole. Does anyone think adding that field to the vendor form would have caused this? Does anyone have any idea what would have caused this or anything else I can do to resolve this problem? I have talked to support for two hours on Friday and they are stumped as well.
