You do get free ldap browsers so you could try downloading one of them for free 
for a one time use.. Construct that URL with the logical not (!) on that 
browser, and check the results..

When I use - LDAP URL
ldap://zzz.loc/DC=zzz,DC=loc??sub?(objectclass=user)
I get the correct entries in the vendor form.

When I use a logical "Not" - I get the error "plugin timeout error"
