John,

I can not say that I have tried it (Yet) .... but after doing a bit of
reading...

Ref: What_s New_ BMC Remedy Action Request System 7.5.00-98415.pdf
Pg: 14
"
When running against a release 7.5.00, 7.1.00, or 7.0.01 AR System server, the
release 7.5.00 Java API runs as pure Java. If the release 7.5.00 Java
API needs to
communicate with a pre-7.0.01 AR System server, it still uses the JNI
layer. You can
configure the Java API to never use the JNI layer, in which case it is unable to
communicate with older servers.
"

So it sounds like ....

The pure Java API that was released is backwards compatible up to and
including v7.0.01. Any AR Server before that (AKA: v6.3 and older)
still needs the JNI layer to fall back on. Which is apparently
designed to work (supported?) too. However, given that v6.3 fell off
the "supported version list" with the release of 7.5, I think BMC
might have a way to claim that this new pure Java API is compatible
with all supported versions.

But maybe you have already read the marketing... and were looking for
someone to validate your own experiences?
