Hi List,

As per a BMC supplied white paper document to reclaim space, we moved
LOBs from "Out of Row" to "In Row" which we gained space about 19GB out
of 32GB in ARSystem tablespace.

After initial testings, the following results were observed

Table Name

LOB Name

Operation

Initial Size (MB)

Final Size (MB)

B876C18004

C18004

Insert 5000 rows

288

288

B876C18004

C18004

Delete 5000 rows

288

288

B876C18004

C18004

Insert 5000 rows

288

360

This shows that Oracle has not re-used the Deleted space during the 2nd
Insert.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem and know of a resolution. Any
help would be greatly appreciated!!!

We are running on Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.2.0 - 64bit version
on Sun Solaris Version 10, 64 bit Platform.

Thank you in advance,
