Well, as I understand it, that's the problem. Adding each company to a customer's Access Restrictions doesn't make that customer any more visible to the other companies - it just increases what that customer has the potential to see in the system. Creating a separate People record in each company for a customer is not an option either as that multiplies an already large number of customer by 5 making the system too slow.
