Guillaume,

We are only replacing application servers at this time. We are also going to
start using Mid-Tier. The current configuration is not worth even mentioning as
it was just equipment we had laying around. There is one active server with a
Hot Backup. There are five custom applications on this server and nothing out
of the box. We have a separate reporting and database servers.

Thanks for your input. Oh, by the way money is an object in this case.

Hey Roger,

Would you mind sending to the list your current servers' configuration
(processor speed, memory, etc).
Is your database server separate from the apps server?
Are you using the mid-tier?
Do you have ITSM or custom apps or both?
Are you using the CMDB, and if so are your running reconciliation jobs?
Do you have a separate reporting server?

Okay, I am not trying to start a debate. I am only looking for some
information. We need to replace my production environment. We are currently in
a Windows environment on XP. We have 7k+ users but concurrent connections are
750 max. We are going to stay in windows and go to a Server Group. I am just
looking for recommendations for processor speed, memory, number of processors,
etc. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
