First, you should go to 6.x then 7.x. If you use the email engine, good luck :) Also, be aware that system fields like Submitter and Last Modified By changed in length (so if you had them in a certain layout, all of a sudden the "expand box" will appear and might overlap the field to it's right). We had that happen on a whole bunch of forms. I think we download some tool to run through all the forms and set the Expand Box option on those fields to "Hide".
