** Best to set up an escalation that fires periodically. Decide if you want to keep any for historic searches. We keep a month or so. Once you decide then set up the escalation to remove batches of them. Set the run if to do small groups so you don't impact the server. After you get caught up have the escalation run based on some thing like Create Date <= $TIMESTAMP$ - (30 * 24 * 60 * 60) which will delete anything created greater than 30 days ago. What I''m doing right now is just doing it by batch - deleting 10,000 records every now and then. From the past, I remember doing it directly in the database by re-creating the Email Messages table (which eventually dropped all the records). I had no problem with this.
