You should (almost) never use the admin tool on the CMDB forms (eg
BMC.CORE:BMC_ComputerSystem), leave these to be updated via the CMDB
Console/cmdbdriver.

The only time this statement could be disobeyed is if you only have CMDB
in your environment. Creation of new views holding any customisations
might be sensible in this case.

It is fine to customise the AST forms as much as you like.

Be aware, though, that some BMC patches update the AST forms so you will
need to take backups of these so that they can be reimported after the
patch has done its deadly deeds.

I've not done it myself but I believe that some developers add new views
to the AST forms and do the customisations there. New views should not be
touched by patches but since the application of BMC patches is now a black
art it would still be sensible to back up any customised forms. The
patches may, afterall, drop an original AST form an import a new one.

Cheers

Peter
