If so, you'll probably want to turn it off, especially if this is a production server. Having dev cache mode turned on can cause the admin thread to get blocked for extended periods of time depending on what's going on on your server. Note that changing this setting will require you to restart the AR server for it to take effect. If you happen to have server logging on you may be able to work out what it's up to from the logs. Also, depending which platform you're on, you may be able to use ptack (Solaris), gstack (Linux), procstack (AIX) or Spotlight on Windows to see what the admin thread is up to. If the thread has died/hung for some reason you're going to have to restart the server.
