You might want to get this doc before you get your next coffee:

BMC Remedy Distributed Server Option (DSO) 
Implementation with BMC Remedy IT Service Management (Part Number: 107201).

Has very detailed instructions. This doc replaces older documents with similar 
titles, so make sure you get the right one from the BMC support site.
