Sean,

Have you tried upgrading to higher patches of 7.5? Earlier patches had several
problems both at server and client level. I'm not sure if this was one of them
at server level, but you could eliminate causes by upgrading as the higher
patch levels have fewer problems as a lot of earlier problems had been fixed
[[and in some cases created new ones :-)]].

Subject: segfaults and crashing ARS 7.5 patch 003 on Linux :o(

  **
  Hi all,

We are running ITSM on ARS 7.5 patch 003 on a Suse Linux VMWare and are
getting more and more segfaults, resulting in automatic stop/starts of ARS.

  Extracts from /var/adm/messages are..........

On the 20th August, we had some 20 restarts !
There doesnt appear to be any messages of any use in the arerror log and the
general performance of the server at each time leading up to each of the
restarts appears to be normal.
I'm not sure if any filter logging or SQL tracing has been performed yet or
whether this is a problem that requires patching.

Now i'm not responsible for the application support but am just trying to
help my app guys out, so am i right to think this will be a workflow issue that
BMC will need to resolve (looping filter/s perhaps ???) ?
They are currently troubleshooting the fault but as yet, we dont seem any
closer to a resolution.

Any thoughts please guys/gals.....anyone else expericing these issues or
experienced them ?

  TIA,
  Sean
