The major reason we see many issues is that the BPCU is not updated with the
suitable hash information. Overlays functionality in case of migration from
older version to ARS 7.6.0.4 largely depends on the way BPCU works. 

Either BMC can provide with the hash information of older version (if they
are willing too) you are upgrading from or you can run it against the clean
copy of the old version installation to get the hash information (hope thats
easy have not done it myself yet). 

Overlays and other features are still very young in the environment but well
given time they will be stable just the question is  how much time?
